Back by popular demand, Crestview’s ever growing, ever popular neighborhood Fall Funfest. Bounce house, hay rides, games, and food. Whether you’re a church member or church neighbor, all are invited and welcome to attend this community event.

This once a year event is our kickoff for AWANA program and a chance to meet the folks who live near our church.

Church members, we need your help in setting up, running, or tearing down. Please note this on your comment card and place in the offering plate next Sunday.

Becoming Disciples 101 is an introductory course helping the new Christian to learn the basics of Christianity. It is designed  for eight week sessions to cover some of Christian teachings in regards to learning how to grow and stay healthy in our spiritual journey  It is based upon the best-selling book Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren. We have chosen this book as our standard text in helping people become acquainted with what it means to be a disciple of Jesus Christ because of Pastor Rick’s gift of teaching and making spiritual truths easily or at least easier to understand.

The class, facilitated by Donna Jones, will be offered here at the church each Sunday  at 9:30 am from September 19 – November 7. If you are serious about becoming like Christ, you are encouraged to sign up for this exciting opportunity.

Weight Watchers

We are excited about the response to this program! It is not too late to sign up and indicate your interest in joining. A friend, neighbor or relative who does not attend Crestview but would be interested in joining is most welcome to attend also. Stop at the table in the foyer to sign up and indicate what day would be best for you. With just a few more interested individuals we can begin the class very soon. Watch for the exact date to be announced.

 Rural King is offering another promotion for churches whose constituents shop at their store. By saving your receipts when you shop between August 22 and August 29 and turning those into the church office, the church will receive 5% off of the total purchases.

Pastor Young conducted two Sunday evening information sessions to explain the need for adding this positon and how it might be funded.

For the next five Sundays various Ministry Team leaders will take a few minutes during the morning worship services to provide their perspective on how an associate can help our church ministries. A handout will be forthcoming.

Musicians:

We are looking for a drummer and bass player to play regularly on Sunday mornings for the Contemporary services as our current muscians will be leaving us to continue their education. We would consider guitarists and multi-instrumentalists as well. All interested players will be given an audition. Contact Gil Gordon or the church office for more information.

The Board of Governance team consists of Pastor Young, Kevin Underwood (Chairman ’10), Janice Arden, Jim Stalker, Terry Sharp, and Jay Underwood. They welcome your comments and suggestions.

Remember this is a change of organizational management for Crestview compared to years past. In order to make our organization run smoothly, this leadership team oversees and enables the Ministry Teams as they handle the bulk of the week-to-week tasks and programs.

The Board of Governance main focus at recent meetings has been on the Associate Pastor search. To inform and gather input from members two congregational meetings have been scheduled. The first is Sunday, August 8th and the second a week later on August 16th. Both meetings are at the church and will begin at 6:30 pm.
